Week 2 of The Freaking Fantastic Blogging and List Building Challenge

It feels really good hitting my blog posts done during this challenge. It’s given me a chance to start my new blog and feel like I’m moving forward with the side of my business that I’m really passionate about, and it kept me more productive on this blog as well because I love to teach and I want to make sure that people know what is working and not working for me.

So, here are the posts that I did this week for the challenge:

Not Everyone Will Like Your Stuff… And It’s Important That You Get OK With That!

Funny, Yet Something to Ponder…

How Long Until You Quit?

I also checked out my stats this week and I’m really impressed with what this challenge is doing so far.

For my DareToGetPersonal.com blog… I bought the domain on Feb. 23rd and added my first post on Feb. 25th. As of March 13th, there were 106 unique visitors in February (4 days) and 557 unique visitors in March (13 days).

For this one, my DebiJ.com blog, I had 173 fewer visitors during February than January. I’m ok with that because there were fewer days and I was ill and not posting for several weeks. So far for March, I’m getting 5 visitors more per day than in February so it’s increasing too.

Since this is also a list building challenge, let’s take a look at subscriber numbers too.

I have 11 new subscribers on my new blog, with 5 additional ones pending confirmation. And I’ve picked up 2 new subscribers here at DebiJ’s Blog too. Not a bad start, and I’m sure that most of the new signups are coming from this challenge, but that’s how you get started. Build relationships and add one person at a time. 🙂

Your turn: So, how’s the challenge going for you? Are you getting things accomplished, even if they are taking a little bit longer than you expected or would like? Are you letting things get in the way? And if you are, have you thought all about what you can do next week to make sure that doesn’t happen? Let me know!

  1. Hi Debi

Great results. I’ve started looking at the Alexa rankings that Bonnie showed in one her blogs a little while ago and I’m amazed at how my site has moved up – and all from a bit of blogging (consistency, of course)

I’ll do a post in due course in how I’ve improved ….. working on getting on top of everything!

    1. I do see where consistency is key. I have a blog that ranked on page one in positions #3, #4, & #5 in mid-2011 for several months. I checked today and it’s at position #314. The thing is, I’ve done NOTHING to it since I set it up in early 2011… and yet there’s still no Alexa ranking for it. (I was checking it out to put it on Flippa).

But my new site? It’s ranking at 2,253,125 within the first 2 weeks. It’s way out there… but it has a ranking! Go figure. 🙂 So I’m still figuring all that out too. 🙂
