A100k – To Be or Not To Be. Is it Really a Question?

Well, it’s no longer a question….

In a G+ discussion about the types of sites that work well and what sort of content to include, a fellow circle member made a comment about the amount of time it takes to get a visitor to your site. Since Tiffany had started the conversation, I had commented to her by the end of it that maybe some refocusing might be in order. At the time of that conversation, I didn’t know that G had de-indexed Tiff’s A100k site.

So, during the past few days while I haven’t been able to get to my site stuff, I’d been considering what to do (or not do) with my own A100k site. I’ve spent hours and hours researching keywords and topics and such to find something that would fit into what the program recommends. I’ve already purchased enough Medical PLR to be able to sustain adding content to the site for a while.

So, what to do…

Today I read a blog post from PotPieGirl about this specific issue. She also has followers who are having their site(s) de-indexed. I considered her suggestion to use a different theme and started searching for one that’s already Adsense ready. The challenge became finding one that had the same layout, since I already know that the A100k themes have been tested and optimized. No luck after an hour.

Back to the thought process of is this site really worth keeping or should I just write off the expenses as  a loss? So I asked myself some basic questions:

1. Is the medical field something that truly inspires and excites me?

Answer: Other than what I learn about while researching my own or my family’s medical issues, I don’t really care all that much.

2. Is the site gaining enough traffic momentum to make it worth spending time on it that I could be spending on another site?

Answer: According to my Hostgator stats, I’ve had 20 visits so far this month, and only 36 last month. Granted the site’s fairly new, but so is this blog and my unique visits are already in the hundreds.

Once I got the answers to those two questions, the writing was on the wall as they say. No, this site isn’t worth investing more time or money into. And it’s DEFINITELY not worth risking my entire Adsense account over when I could be using it on my other sites.

So, if any of you have a medical site that you are truly passionate about because that’s your area of interest, I have some PLR on sale for really cheap!! 🙂
