Traffic Update – April 1, 2013

It’s been 2 weeks since my last update about the what’s going on with the blog challenge I’m participating in so I want to give you a quick idea of how it’s going.

So first, let’s start with the numbers from my initial update:

For my DareToGetPersonal.com blog… In the first 17 days, there 663 unique visitors. In the past 18 days, there’s been an additional 408 unique visitors. Not bad! I expected a drop for a couple reasons. Initially, I’m guessing that many of the people who were doing the challenge along with me were stopping by, and I made sure to get my 3 posts per week done. That shows me that consistency pays off (I think anyway… I’ll have to watch and compare over the next couple weeks).

For this one, my DebiJ.com blog… During that same time, there were 5 visitors more per day than I’d had prior to the challenge. Since then, there have been another 5 unique visitors per day… a total of 10 more per day since the challenge began. And with this site, I’m doing weekly updates rather than posting a couple times a week.

I love that fact that I can watch my traffic grow. Right now, I don’t pay attention to total traffic since I think unique traffic is a better estimate of whether people are finding them organically. I may be way off because I’m not an SEO expert, but we’ll see.

Subscribe to my list so you won’t miss out on any of my subscriber-only specials! And be sure to include your links in the comments below. I use CommentLuv to link to your blog so you can build automatic backlinks that Google will love!

  1. Yes, the challenge was a bit patchy as we had so many distractions from events around us, and “life happened” to a few of us, as was to be expected.

But although my list didn’t grow by much, my traffic has more than doubled, and at least I finally got my ezine online at last, so I can keep building my list of subscribers over time… Hard to do if you haven’t even set up your ezine – lol!

    1. I feel the same way. Most of my new subscribers were from the challenge itself, some of which I’m not sure are target market but fellow marketers are ALWAYS great to have on board. But the traffic has definitely increased overall. And with all that we WERE doing, we know we can keep growing that and start putting a bit of focus on keywords and such too which will help bring in outside traffic too! I’ll support ya… I like your how-to stuff! 🙂
