The Universe is Winning – My Last 2 Weeks

All I can say at this point is…. Wow.

As most of you know, I went into 2013 with the intention of growing my Squidoo income so I could get off the truck (I drive a big rig). Well, during the beginning of January, that’s what I started doing. I’ve had my VA build at least 30 lenses, and then I’ve been working on closing “leaks” and adding things that will improve their ranking and hopefully, their sales.

So far, no sales from any of the lenses. I am getting lots of likes, comments and compliments…just no sales. That’s ok. I figure that I’m still tweaking, they need time, and all will come together.

Then I had my Coaching call with Craig Desorcy. Awesome call. Told him what my game plan has been and what issues my job has been inflicting on my goals. After several questions and answers, along with a few tears (mine, not his), I was feeling much better about things, even though the goal ultimately is to scrap what I’ve been doing and move another direction.

No problem with that either because the direction is something I enjoy, even though I’m not 100% sure of what it looks like yet.

Since then…

I started getting bladder spasms again on the 12 when we were headed home from Texas. Got those handled and proceeded to catch a cold…just runny nose and cough so no biggie. Ran with the cold the following week, then saw the doctor when I got home because my body’s been a bit out of sorts for how I know it to run. Figured I finally had health insurance so let’s go get a checkup.

medical diagramMedical Findings…

I’ve been fighting cholesterol for years. Tried everything natural I could find with no success on getting it to acceptable levels. Doctor put me on statins. First one caused a rash. Second one caused body aches 24/7. Third one…oh, I didn’t ask for a third one. I told the doctor that I’ll take my chances with the cholesterol.

January of 2012… I started on the HCG diet. Lost 25 pounds in less than 2 months, loved the change in eating habits, but then had to go back on the road where it’s just not feasible to eat healthy. Before I went back out, I had my numbers retested… even though I’d been eating a LOT healthier than ever, my cholesterol and triglycerides had actually gotten worse!

Since being on the truck, I bought a Nutri-Bullet. Still eating fast food and crap but no longer as the staple of my diet. Doctor ran blood work. Says triglycerides were around 140 I believe (I’ll have to get a copy during next week’s follow up appointment). Β In April, they had been over 350. Cool. Nutri Bullet’s working. πŸ™‚

Bad news…

Blood sugar was a tad high, but when he ran the “check last 3 month levels” test, they were fine. Keeping an eye on it.

EKG was abnormal. Went for consult with cardiologist today. Running stress echo next week. Doesn’t seem overly concerned.

UA came back with 4 of 6 markers showing possible bacterial infection but white blood cells don’t seem to be coming to the rescue. Shot of penicillin and 10 days of UTI meds. Let’s hope it clears this up because the next stop is the Urologist.

D3 – Low, even though I take daily D3 for breast cancer risk. Upping the dosage.

Sodium levels – Low. No idea why so he’s running a few more tests. Tested it to start with because I’ve been having dehydration symptoms almost daily (and I don’t exercise) which seem to only be alleviated by Powerade… drinking Zero but I want the Aspartame gone so if anyone knows of an electrolyte drink without sugar or aspartame, please drop me a line!

While waiting for test results….

Last Monday I went back to doctor to get the initial results. Had gotten the flu… fever, chills, and body aches the likes of which I’ve never had in my life! Put me on Oxy-codone and TamiFlu and told me to go home and get in bed till I could walk again. Followed doctor’s orders. Feeling better but still tired and easily winded. Good news? No nausea and crap…I’d rather have an aching body!!

Topping it all off…

My co-driver believes always that he knows better than me (yes, I drive with my sweetheart). I had told him several times on our job to not do something that in reality, while not all that unsafe, has the potential to be unsafe. And while he might not mind the risk, the people who we drive for do.

Long story short. He did it again last week against my better judgement. I was stupid enough to not take on the fight once again. Plant security saw him, reported it, and he lost his job. πŸ™ Guess what? I drive as his co-driver so until they can find me another driver (if I choose to go back), I don’t have a job either.

Blessing or curse?

I’m still not sure actually. Thankfully, when he got fired, I was already sick and too weak to kill him (I thought using my weapon might be a bit of an overkill) so he’s still breathing.

When asked what I wanted to do (and reminded that the company can find another driver for me or I can switch to the line haul side), I told him the only reason I drive team is because we drive together and I have no desire to go back over-the-road. At this point, I’m not sure that my health is going to allow either.

Next steps…

success failureSo, I’m going to spend the next 30 to 60 days working on building my business like, as Tiffany Dow said, like my life depends on it…because it just might. I’ve not had dedicated time before so it will be interesting to see what this type of motivation can do for it.

I’m going to follow Craig’s advice and go back to my personal development roots from my previous business. I’ve made more money in that arena than anywhere else in my life. I’m not sure how the monetization will look yet because before, the actual company product WAS a personal development product. Off the top of my head from thoughts during the past two weeks I’m guessing I will be creating my own products, selling other people’s as an affiliate, and eventually, possibly getting back to training other people in the mindset/language arenas….always LOVED that part of what I did before. πŸ™‚

Immediate Income

Yes, that’s where I’m starting. I’m going to finish my Niche Research Packs. When Tiffany had let folks know about my initial test run with them, I got really great feedback along with some great suggestions on how to make them even better.

So, once my computer issues are solved…again!… I will be putting several packs together and learning how to set up a WSO. I’ll post more info about what they’ll include and when they’ll be together in another post…and of course you guys will be the first to know about any of them! πŸ™‚

Conclusion

You know, there’s a lot of stuff I’d like to be able to keep up with Tiffany Dow on. The direction her 2013 started out wasn’t on that list!! LOL

Anyway, if you know anyone who writes WSO copy that you like, please drop me a note. I think I’ll outsource that part.

If you know of any electrolyte type drinks that are sugar and aspartame free, please let me know that as well.

I have no doubt my health will improve off the truck. Now it’s time to improve my finances as well so that I don’t have to get back onto another one!

Until then….

  1. When it rains, it pours – doesn’t it?

You keep me abreast of what’s going on over there. I like to keep tabs on friends. Hate when people disappear – I always think the worst!

Have you ever watched “The Secret” documentary? I think, if you have time, it would be good for you right now.

    Take care of YOU!

    1. Thanks Bonnie. And yes, I watched it when it first came out years ago…Mark Victor Hansen is a friend and Bob Proctor did our original product at the company I used to be with. πŸ™‚

I’m doing as Craig suggested at the moment….taking care of me, getting my health back…and yet while I’m laying around feeling like a bump on a log, I’m going thru the thought processes and note-taking of what I must do quickly in order to maintain that health. πŸ™‚

My computer issues just confound me. Mine took a dive so they said replace it because we can’t fix it….not good timing when all you can find on the market is Win 8 (hate it cause it bogs). Toshiba’s touchpad wouldn’t navigate for me…sent back 2 of those. Thought Gateway would be good but when I wiped out Win8 and installed Win7, none of my WiFi stuff would work. Three tech guys later… I would have literally strangled the last one I spoke to if he’d been within reach.

My son’s been working horrendous hours over the weekend as usual so I’m waiting till he’s coherent again before I put him on the hunt for something that works. πŸ˜‰

        1. Good to know! I used to be a die-hard Compaq fan… till HP took over and then the 2 I owned past that sucked. πŸ™‚ My Dell took a crap as well. The Toshiba took 2 new ones to figure out I don’t like their touch pad. And now this with the Gateway (who I believe Acer owns now). This is why my son won’t let me near his computers! lol

  2. Wow, I’m glad to “see” you again and sorry you’ve had so many issues.

Getting fired is always going to suck, but look at it this way: it may be the kick in the ass to get your lives headed in the direction you actually want to go.

Also, at least you didn’t murder him. LOL!

I have released a few WSOs over the last few months and had some good success, so if I can help with anything, please drop me a line πŸ™‚

    1. Karen,

I’m not sure he even knows how close he was to death’s door. LOL

Thanks so much for the support offer. I may just take you up on it because I have no clue at the moment where even the start point is. I’m going to start with the packs themselves, then may have questions and will definitely touch base with you.

Great to hear your WSOs have gone well too. That’s awesome!

  3. So sorry to hear about all the crap coming down at once. But like you say, it just opened up a window of time for you to completely focus on your new direction.

I’ve been doing a “tea” of my own concoction – generally coconut water, finger of diced ginger, one lime or lemon and agave enough for it too be sweet to you, when I get ill. It’s not exactly electrolyte but works for me much the same way.

    1. Hey girl, thanks for the recipe. We were keeping coconut water on the truck because someone told me it works well for dehydration… great reminder! Do you make this cold or do you have to boil it ahead of time and then use it either way (wasn’t sure with the ginger how you’re getting the flavor infused).

Oh, and the only suggestion as to why it might keep going out of whack so far…is hormones possibly. Really? Is this every doctor’s answer for every issue we have? I’ve never had PMS in my life but I can sure as heck see why there are women out there who use it as a reason to beat the tar out of guys sometimes! LOL πŸ™‚

      Kidding guys…. relax.

      1. So sorry to hear about all of this. Sounds like you’re definitely going through the ringer. πŸ™ I can tell you that hormones DO wreck havoc on you–your body and your mind too.

I “used” to think it was just a “convenient” excuse that women used. Unfortunately, it’s not. This is the main thing holding me back and keeping me in my little shell. People who haven’t gone through this crap or breezed right through it have no clue and see it as an excuse.

I’ve never had any issues in my life, breezed right through “that time” all of my adult life. Now, I have no clue if I’m coming or going or when it’s going to happen. What used to be monthly symptoms are now pretty much weekly or daily. Bleh!

So, I just plod along, doing what I can when I’m in “the mood”. LOL.

Hope you get all of your stuff straightened up. Health is definitely the most important. Without it, nothing else really matters.

        Best of luck to you!

        1. Patti,

Thanks for stopping by. I’m sorry you’re going thru the ups and downs too. I’ve read many horror stories of women having hormonal issues, whether due to menopause or surgery (my mom had issues after her breast cancer surgery caused by the Tamoxifen they put her on). Seems like finding someone who knows how to go about balancing them out and figuring out how your body is going to react to each step is time-consuming and extremely frustrating.

Right now, I’m recovered from the flu thank goodness and I’m walking 30 minutes each day which seems to be helping me build my strength back up. I’ve eliminated most non-natural sugar from the diet this month to see if that helps and adding more veggie drinks to my daily foods. I’m even learning to cook a bit!! (You have NO idea how odd THAT statement is in this house!) LOL

Feel better and keep moving forward on the days you can because you’re right, without being healthy, not much else gets done.

  4. I really miss my Naturopath Nurse Practitioner. She moved to Alabama. πŸ™

She was the only one who realized I was dealing with SLE and helped me go vegetarian to deal with it.

Anyhoo, boil just the ginger. I crush mine in the water and boil but I LOVE ginger. One finger per 32 oz of water. Then make the “tea” and chill it or drink it room temperature. You lose the benefits of the coconut water if you boil it.

Hope you figure it out. That always thirsty feeling is no joke and wreaks havoc with so many other things.

I always wondered what you were planning since you got that initial exposure from Tiff. Feel free to ask me any questions about the WSO etc when you’re ready to launch!

My health, other than the dehydration issues, has stabilized. I’ve gotten 2 niche research packs done as well as my Mindless Mapping Product, and I’m currently spending time on Pinterest and working on my holiday affiliate sites. πŸ™‚
