Niche Research PLR, Curation, Kindle, Productivity, Product Review

I’ve had more time to work on growing my business now that I’m working fewer hours each day at my job…Yay me! Thought I’d better stop by here and update you on what I’m doing.

Niche Research Packs

I have three of these in the works but I’m running behind. I was keeping up on the daily tasks until my sister called to tell me her cancer was back. The bad news is it’s going to be a bit longer before the niche research packs are ready. The good news is that the cancer seems to be encased in the scar tissue from her surgery four and a half years ago and hasn’t spread. To be safe, the doctor’s going to do some outpatient surgery to get rid of as much of the other scar tissue as possible so he can check to see if there’s more. So all things considered, this is very good news!

New Curation Site

My son’s been working on a curated site to see what type of results he can get in the way of traffic and then conversions. He bought the domain on July 12 and started adding articles to it. It’s a more controversial site than this one in case you want to avoid discussions that many people avoid (politics, abortion, guns and such). As of this post (I just went and checked), he’s had 262 visitors. That’s more than I’ve gotten on a site I set up September 5th of last year! I’m thinking there’s going to be some serious curation going on in my near future.

Kindle Book Challenge

Tiffany Dow created a 30-day Kindle book challenge. We’re writing a book to put on Kindle… one page a day (or more) for each of 30 days. After that, we will be spending the next 30 days promoting it. I’ve picked my topic and so far have written at least one page each day. On two of the days I wrote more. I’m really excited about how this is going to turn out. If you’d like to join in on the challenge, you’re welcome at any time!

Productivity Challenge

Yet another way to make sure I’m very accountable this month. Ruth Pound started this productivity challenge (for herself as well as others). From what I understand, she’s a procrastinator like many of us and this is going to give us another group to hold ourselves accountable to, and providing actionable tips each day to make sure we have ways of being more productive. If you feel like you’re not being as productive as you had planned this year, you may want to come join us! to take along the way. I know that Halloween and Christmas stuff is coming up and I’d love to have my sites up for those. Whether I can work those into this month and/or next only time will tell. My book and research packs are my primary goals for right now.

Product Review

I’m also (slowly but surely) going thru Geoff Shaw’s Kindling product and reviewing it as I go. The information so far has been a lot of fun to go thru so it drives me nuts that I don’t have more time to dedicate to just that. Geoff’s fun to listen to, he’s encouraging, and he seems to be very straightforward and honest about his opinions…my kinda people! This is a product I’m going to get a LOT of use out of I’m sure!

My Plans

So much to do and the year is more than halfway gone! Here are the projects I’m working on for this month and August. I know that if I tell you here then I have even MORE people keeping me accountable!)

July

  • Kindle Book – Get it written
  • Research Packs – Finish the 3 I’m working on
  • Curation – Add more curated posts to my sites so I can see how much of a difference it makes in traffic

August

  • Kindle Book – Promote it
  • Curation – Continue doing this so I can get a good sense of what it’s doing for traffic
  • Halloween and Christmas sites – Start adding products to these sites so they can be ready on time this year

My goal is to be out of my job by the end of the year. I’m setting myself up to make sure I do all I can to make that happen!

So, what are your plans for the rest of this year?

Until then…

    1. No problem! Between Tiff’s Kindle challenge and your Productivity one, I’m actually getting my first book done too!! 🙂

  2. Hi there! I think your niche research packs are a really good idea. If I were you, I’d put some concentrated effort into getting version 1.0 (as it were) out there or at the very least, promoting them a little harder. I definitely see there being demand for that kind of product.

They seem ideally suited for a WSO (Warrior Special Offer). Also, maybe you could make a slightly longer and more “salesy” sales page for them. It looks like you are on the right track but not quite adding enough coal to the fire.

    1. Jack,

Thanks for the extra push. I will definitely move them back up in the rankings of what I’m working on first and most. Honestly, the perfectionism had kicked back in a bit which always leads to the whole… Are they good enough? Will they really like them? blah, blah, blah. So, I’ve fired her again so we can see what the non-perfectionist can accomplish! 🙂
