My Journey to Successful Internet Marketing

Hey there! My name’s Debi and today’s the first day of my new blog. Not that it’s the first one I’ve ever created, but this is the first one I’ve done using my own name.

Just to let you know, I’ve spent the past 5 years or so looking for internet marketers who have integrity even when it’s not the easy way to go. I’ve found that those kind of people in a “make money fast” world are difficult to come by…and yet I’ve finally managed to do it!

I’m sure I’ll have posts here about all the projects I’m working on as this is going to be a sort of “here’s what it took for me to get it right” kind of blog…a business diary of sorts.

So, hang on. It may be one of the bumpiest rides you’ve ever taken! There are a few things I can assure you of however.

  1. I’ll never lie to you.
  2. You’ll ALWAYS get my honest opinion.
  3. If you decide to follow along with me, I will NEVER give out your email address.
  4. You should never ask a question that you don’t want an honest answer to.

So, today I’m working on getting all my tools of the trade together. Here’s what I’ve done:

  • Bought “Click & Drag Graphics” so that I have a way to “pretty up” my blogs.
  • Bought “Building an EBook Empire” so I can see how all of my information will eventually fit together in an EBook (at least I think that’s what it might offer but I haven’t read it yet so I’ll let you know).
  • Bought PLRATM to learn how to set up and market my new PLR site.
  • Bought “Bring the Fresh (Core Version)” to show me how to backlink.
  • Bought “Blog Lock Down” so that I can protect what I create.
  • Paid for my subscription to the “War Room” on WarriorForum.com so that I have a place to get questions answered and I have access to successful people to learn from.
  • Made sure I still have my account with YouTube.com
  • Made sure I still have my account with ClickBank.com.
  • Created a brand new WordPress blog at DebiJ.com.
  • Registered 2 new domain names at GoDaddy…one for my Debi J’s Blog, the other for my PLR site.
  • Updated domain names so they would forward to my LunarPages site address.
  • Installed a new WordPress theme I’m going to play with called 2010 Weaver.
  • Set up my blog as a “subdomain” on my LunarPages Hosting account.

Note:  The people I’m following as mentors on this project use HostGator. I’ve used them before but can’t recall if I switched because I didn’t like it, or because it didn’t have something that LunarPages offers or what. For right now though, I’m more familiar with LunarPages so I’m going that route just to eliminate another learning curve. I can always migrate it over to HostGator down the road.

Tomorrow, it’s time to start reading about what steps to take next to start building content. I feel like I got a lot accomplished today, and yet not near what I planned to accomplish. You should know that I’m a perfectionist…so I’m rarely satisfied with myself until it’s ALL done! :)
