Focusing Requires Focus

Ok, so I know that sounds obvious…and it is. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t require a reminder on occasion!

When I started on this whole internet marketing thing last year, I had no clue about all that it involves, all the choices available, what my favorite parts of it might be, or what I would want to focus on. So I tested a lot of waters. I played with some affiliate marketing, some PLR stuff, some blogging, and more. Was it worth the amount of time it took to learn all that stuff?

Absolutely!

I’ve learned that I must set immediate goals, intermediate goals and long-term goals. And while that’s something I’ve done since 1999 with my very first business, I wasn’t sure exactly HOW to set them in the world of online business. But I knew that if I didn’t find a way to get focused on something I would stick with, I’d just keep floundering and spending money rather than earning it.

So, I found a few people to follow as mentors, and I found one or two that I could pay for coaching to teach me a few things and keep me focused on building the first stage of my business. There are a couple of things that really caught my attention that I believe I’ll enjoy doing such as building my PLR store (which will include written works as well as website design). Once that’s meeting my short-term income goals, then I can stop driving over the road and be home to work on meeting my next goal.

Eventually, there’s a lot of smaller niche sites I’d love to build, but I’m taking it one step at a time. It’s frustrating because I want to do so many things at once, but I’ve learned that doing things that way will just KEEP me frustrated…and that’s NOT one of my goals!  🙂

I’ll be back later to post an update on my progress. Things are moving along slowly but they’re coming together.

Until then…
