Hostgator (Thank you Tiffany), A100k, Bring the Fresh revival, & a New Personal Site

I don’t have much time because I’ve got a lot to do today but I wanted to get this out here while I was thinking about it.

Thanks to Tiffany Dow’s new Website Hosting for Newbies site, I’ve learned a very important tip about my HostGator account. It’s really basic, but something I hadn’t noticed before and that’s my website traffic stats. Now that I know where to find them, there’s a few things I found out about my traffic that I wanted to share because it’s so exciting for me to be getting traffic, especially since my sites are all so new!

My main blog site (the one you’re on now) has been getting more traffic that I thought. Last month I had 540 total visits. So far this month, I’ve had 462 with 25 of them being just yesterday. Now, only 185 of that 462 were unique (but hey, that means there are people who stopped by once and actually liked what they heard me say that they came back!!). And while it’s definitely not the kind of traffic that top marketers get, I’m excited because I know I’m doing something right and that if I keep doing it, they will come! I’m guessing there may be some more stuff to report about the traffic, but I’ll get back to you on all that once I”ve had time to sit down and really look at all the stats info they have available. Thanks for the great lessons Tiff! I can’t wait for more!

My Adsense 100k site

I got all my content back and have it all scheduled to roll out. A quick glance at my traffic for just this month says I’ve had 23 unique visitors. Considering there’s only a few pages on that site, I know there’s possibilities for that one as well. I’ll keep you updated on how it’s going once all the pages are posted and I start posting & backlinking.

My Bring the Fresh site

I’ve neglected this poor site. I was really excited that it initially ranked in the top 5 on Google for it’s main keyword, but then I got into setting up my other sites so I haven’t been posting or backlinking since I set it up. I could give you excuses and reasons but it’s just that, as I said in an earlier post, it was a test site, not an “I’m passionate about this topic” site.

The thing is though, even with having done NOTHING to it since its setup, it’s gotten 233 unique visitors just this month so far. I’m going to have to go check out the details of that traffic when I have a few. Even though I haven’t had any sales from it, it may be worth going back to for a few and adding some more posts to see what it can do. It might be worth it to add some Adsense to (sort of a BTF/A100k combo) so that it might earn while it sits. I’ll let you know.

New Site

I’ve set up a new site that I’m so excited about I can’t sleep at night. It combines a lot of things that I’ve wanted to do for a while so that I can accomplish several things at once during my limited time availability. While I love this blog for it’s ability to keep my business ideas in focus and share what it takes to grow my income, I just had to have a personal blog that will do sort of the same (plus more) for my life. I’m not going to share it just yet, but it’s a place where my son will be able to go down the road and know who his mom was AND is…and WHY. As for the monetization of it…it’s just now my focus right now. There are things I want to do with it and I know it’s going to be a mix of things I’m passionate about, but for now, it’s just personal & I’ll update you more on that as I go too!

Well, I gotta go get stuff done. Have a kick-butt day and I’ll be back to chat more later!
