90-Day Product Creation Challenge

One of the gals I follow, Bonnie Gean, is great at creating information that shows me how to do some of the technical things that come up when you’re building a business. She covers things for beginners to those of us a bit more advanced.

Well, last month, she suggested to Tiffany Dow that we do a product creation challenge. And since we’ve many of us have spent the past 30+ days in a blogging challenge to improve our blogs and increase traffic, it was a natural progression for us to move into creating our own products.

Product CreationI’ve got a few products created already that I’ve done based on my own research. And I’ve spent the past few weeks working on getting a shopping cart working, along with an affiliate program. But I have no doubts that I’ll be learning a ton of new stuff during this challenge.

In the meantime, I’ll be posting regularly about what I’ve learned during my research. I’ll be posting another mind map soon that includes what I’ve discovered so far… some good… some not so great.

The technical stuff has driven me nuts but I’m as done with the testing as I can be so now I’m setting up the sales funnel stuff… landing page, sales page, thank you pages, etc.

After that it will be on to my affiliate tools. I’d like to make sure I have a few things online for anyone who decides they like my stuff well enough to market it.

In the midst of all that, Tiffany’s been gracious enough to start preparing everyone for this product challenge. And because I’m visual and I’ve been adding all my current project information to mind maps, I threw this one together and thought it might be useful to those who plan to participate in the challenge.

So if you’re visual and you’d like to see a shortened version of Tiff’s tips in mind map form, here you go!

Tiffany Dow’s 90-Day Product Creation Tips – Mind Map (Includes links to Tiff’s blog posts about the challenge)

Feel free to download, edit, add to it, etc. I’ll be updating it as I find  more information and Tiff adds to hers. Let me know if there’s any other information that may be helpful.

If you haven’t gotten on board yet, and you plan to create products of some sort, you really should come and join in on this one. It’s 90 days so it’s not going to make you feel overly rushed. We have a ton of support from the people who follow Tiffany. And who knows, even if you have your own products created already, chances are you’re going to learn something that will improve what you’re already doing! 🙂

Your turn: Are you participating in the challenge? If not, why not? Have you already created products of your own? Do you have any tips to share if you have? I think the more information people have (as long as it’s quality information), the faster they’ll overcome their fears and get their business moving forward!

  1. Hi Debi,
I am definitely taking part in this challenge. I think that it is going to be amazing how many products will be completed and on the market place in a matter of weeks. I am very excited.

I am also happy that you have decided to combine the interests of both your blogs into this one. It makes sense huh? I quickly subscribed here. 🙂

    Have a great day

    1. Thanks so much Victoria. I just don’t know why I felt I had to separate it but so glad it dawned on me sooner rather than later. Until my work income gets replaced it’s important to stay focused rather than split my efforts. I think that’s true for anyone starting online you know?

So glad you’re following. I really like keeping up on what you’re doing too. You’ve come a long way in such a short time!

  2. Deb,

Thanks so much for the TD 90-day mind map, this is terrific!
Started using the mind map tool too, it sure works nicely for sorting out the plan.

    Thanks again!

  3. I love your mindmaps. I made one like your first one for my own blog. It’s fun to play with when I need a break from something else.

Yep, I am planning to create a product. Thinking about a different kind of tutorial than I’ve seen here.

Since I love to quilt, and know how, I might show step-by-step how to do that. You and I talked about that earlier in another post of yours. Actually you confirmed what I’d been thinking.

    Great minds…etc, etc…

    Another great post, Debi

    1. I’m glad you like them (and am hoping you’re editing for your own blog rather than starting from scratch), and I’m glad you’re going to take on the product challenge. It will be good to start from early on so you build credibility and an online presence faster than I knew to do! 🙂

      1. Yes, I set the mindmap up for me. As I think of a goal or tip or anything I think is of value, I add that. I see where you find the value.

I spend half my life searching for things and with the mindmap, it’s right there.
