I love seeing video posts on blogs. I follow Tiffany Dow religiously (and I KNOW “Amy” will hate this) but Tiff’s videos are a lot of fun. I read her posts too, but the videos let me listen to what she’s saying when I’m busy driving and can’t read the post yet.
The question then becomes, “Why aren’t I adding videos to my blog yet?”
For a few reasons. First, I DON’T like myself in photos, much less live video feeds…but I can get over that one. After all, I’m afraid of heights too but I’ve still jumped out of a perfectly good airplane a few times!
The bigger issues at the moment are the fact that the only “camera” I have to do it with is either my Blackberry phone (not the greatest quality for what I wanna do here) or my video cam (which has a “leash” that attaches it to my computer so I can’t really move to far or angle it where I want).
One day soon I’ll take the time to do a bit of research on cameras that work well for the whole video blog purpose (and if any of you have one that you really like or have already researched a bit and can assist in narrowing down my research time, please feel free to comment and let me know your thoughts!). The thing is, once I find something that’ll do the job well, then it’s a matter of actually doing them. And THAT’S gonna be the stopping point.
I drive a truck back and forth between Phoenix and Long Beach. No, not my personal truck…a semi-truck (18-wheeler style). Between the truck itself and the crappy roads in California, NOTHING in the truck stays put unless it’s strapped down! It’s a constant CRASH…what was that? environment. So I have NO idea how I’d make a video blog in this environment.
The blogging’s much simpler because Dragon Naturally Speaking is one of my bestest friends!! 🙂
So, the goal of vlogging is definitely on my list. The purchase of a camera for the task is the first step. After that, it’s gonna be vlogging on the weekends or a quick vlog before bed….sounds dangerous! LOL
Hey! Maybe since I don’t like being on camera anyway, doing a vlog WHILE I’m driving might be just the ticket…it would be so shaky and blurry that people couldn’t see me well anyway! On second thought, probably not a good idea. The audio part will be ok and with the way people drive around big rigs…I’d have to change my blog rating to “R” just for the language alone!
I’ll keep you updated…
