As they’ve been coming together this week, it dawned on me that even when I get them done, there’s still a ton of things that I’ve gotta learn how to do before I can even see if people like them!

It’s been a while since I put a product in my store so I’ve gotta re-learn how to use DownLoad Guard.

I know I have a really cool report that Peggy Baron put together way back when I started on how to get DLGuard to work with JRox’ Affiliate software so I’m gonna finally have to figure that out.

And then, once all THOSE bugs are worked out, I get to go figure out how the heck to set up a WSO. Thankfully I already have support offers from some of the wonderful people I’ve met over at Tiff’s site!

It’s not that any of it’s rocket science. It’s just that it’s all new territory for me… the great unknown. And it tends to be time-consuming to get everything tested and working right.

And it all stands between me and my getting these packs online. But I set that aside and went to work on the front end first.

I started out Tuesday with the goal of putting together my next research pack in 8 hours or less. I hadn’t worked on them for a while so I fully expected that it would take a bit of time just to find where I’d put everything, what I’d been working on and where I had stopped working. That whole “where did I leave off and what the heck was I doing” thing.

I figured out about 4 hours in that I’ve got a long way to go in the whole area of working on my own boundaries. I had several interruptions throughout the beginning of my day that REALLY slowed me down. And because everyone’s getting used to me working here rather than being available at all hours to chat, I found myself between wanting to BE available and wanting to scream at the top of my lungs for everyone to get the hell out of the house!

It took 14 hours, but I finally got the first pack done. If they all take this long, I’ll have a full head of grey hair and a possible mental disorder emerge! J

On Thursday, I once again started with the goal of getting a full pack done within 8 hours or less. My son was at work and my other half was headed to a job interview so things were going the right direction.

Then I got a note from my Squidoo Lens Group that let me know, once again, that Squidoo’s made a decision that will seriously affect the way I’ve been getting my lenses done. Without a ton of detail here, it put me on a near 2-hour interruption so that I could download all my lenses in order to be sure my work was backed up onto my computer.

The good news is that it got me REAL clear on my decision to follow my heart (along with Craig Desorcy’s advice) on not focusing 100% of my business efforts on lens building, which had been my original plan going into 2013.

I’m in the process of putting together five Niche Research Packs so that I can run a WSO over at the Warrior Forum.
