Wow.

As most of you know, I went into 2013 with the intention of growing my Squidoo income so I could get off the truck (I drive a big rig). Well, during the beginning of January, that’s what I started doing. I’ve had my VA build at least 30 lenses, and then I’ve been working on closing “leaks” and adding things that will improve their ranking and hopefully, their sales.

So far, no sales from any of the lenses. I am getting lots of likes, comments and compliments…just no sales. That’s ok. I figure that I’m still tweaking, they need time, and all will come together.

Then I had my Coaching call with Craig Desorcy. Awesome call. Told him what my game plan has been and what issues my job has been inflicting on my goals. After several questions and answers, along with a few tears (mine, not his), I was feeling much better about things, even though the goal ultimately is to scrap what I’ve been doing and move another direction.

No problem with that either because the direction is something I enjoy, even though I’m not 100% sure of what it looks like yet.

Since then…

I started getting bladder spasms again on the 12 when we were headed home from Texas. Got those handled and proceeded to catch a cold…just runny nose and cough so no biggie. Ran with the cold the following week, then saw the doctor when I got home because my body’s been a bit out of sorts for how I know it to run. Figured I finally had health insurance so let’s go get a checkup.

Medical Findings…

I’ve been fighting cholesterol for years. Tried everything natural I could find with no success on getting it to acceptable levels. Doctor put me on statins. First one caused a rash. Second one caused body aches 24/7. Third one…oh, I didn’t ask for a third one. I told the doctor that I’ll take my chances with the cholesterol.

January of 2012… I started on the HCG diet. Lost 25 pounds in less than 2 months, loved the change in eating habits, but then had to go back on the road where it’s just not feasible to eat healthy. Before I went back out, I had my numbers retested… even though I’d been eating a LOT healthier than ever, my cholesterol and triglycerides had actually gotten worse!

Since being on the truck, I bought a Nutri-Bullet. Still eating fast food and crap but no longer as the staple of my diet. Doctor ran blood work. Says triglycerides were around 140 I believe (I’ll have to get a copy during next week’s follow up appointment). In April, they had been over 350. Cool. Nutri Bullet’s working. 🙂

Bad news…

Blood sugar was a tad high, but when he ran the “check last 3 month levels” test, they were fine. Keeping an eye on it.

EKG was abnormal. Went for consult with cardiologist today. Running stress echo next week. Doesn’t seem overly concerned.

UA came back with 4 of 6 markers showing possible bacterial infection but white blood cells don’t seem to be coming to the rescue. Shot of penicillin and 10 days of UTI meds. Let’s hope it clears this up because the next stop is the Urologist.

D3 – Low, even though I take daily D3 for breast cancer risk. Upping the dosage.

Sodium levels – Low. No idea why so he’s running a few more tests. Tested it to start with because I’ve been having dehydration symptoms almost daily (and I don’t exercise) which seem to only be alleviated by Powerade… drinking Zero but I want the Aspartame gone so if anyone knows of an electrolyte drink without sugar or aspartame, please drop me a line!

While waiting for test results….

Last Monday I went back to doctor to get the initial results. Had gotten the flu… fever, chills, and body aches the likes of which I’ve never had in my life! Put me on Oxy-codone and TamiFlu and told me to go home and get in bed till I could walk again. Followed doctor’s orders. Feeling better but still tired and easily winded. Good news? No nausea and crap…I’d rather have an aching body!!

Topping it all off…

My co-driver believes always that he knows better than me (yes, I drive with my sweetheart). I had told him several times on our job to not do something that in reality, while not all that unsafe, has the potential to be unsafe. And while he might not mind the risk, the people who we drive for do.

Long story short. He did it again last week against my better judgement. I was stupid enough to not take on the fight once again. Plant security saw him, reported it, and he lost his job. 🙁 Guess what? I drive as his co-driver so until they can find me another driver (if I choose to go back), I don’t have a job either.

Blessing or curse?

I’m still not sure actually. Thankfully, when he got fired, I was already sick and too weak to kill him (I thought using my weapon might be a bit of an overkill) so he’s still breathing.

When asked what I wanted to do (and reminded that the company can find another driver for me or I can switch to the line haul side), I told him the only reason I drive team is because we drive together and I have no desire to go back over-the-road. At this point, I’m not sure that my health is going to allow either.

Next steps…

So, I’m going to spend the next 30 to 60 days working on building my business like, as Tiffany Dow said, like my life depends on it…because it just might. I’ve not had dedicated time before so it will be interesting to see what this type of motivation can do for it.

I’m going to follow Craig’s advice and go back to my personal development roots from my previous business. I’ve made more money in that arena than anywhere else in my life. I’m not sure how the monetization will look yet because before, the actual company product WAS a personal development product. Off the top of my head from thoughts during the past two weeks I’m guessing I will be creating my own products, selling other people’s as an affiliate, and eventually, possibly getting back to training other people in the mindset/language arenas….always LOVED that part of what I did before. 🙂

Immediate Income

Yes, that’s where I’m starting. I’m going to finish my Niche Research Packs. When Tiffany had let folks know about my initial test run with them, I got really great feedback along with some great suggestions on how to make them even better.

So, once my computer issues are solved…again!… I will be putting several packs together and learning how to set up a WSO. I’ll post more info about what they’ll include and when they’ll be together in another post…and of course you guys will be the first to know about any of them! 🙂

Conclusion

You know, there’s a lot of stuff I’d like to be able to keep up with Tiffany Dow on. The direction her 2013 started out wasn’t on that list!! LOL

Anyway, if you know anyone who writes WSO copy that you like, please drop me a note. I think I’ll outsource that part.

If you know of any electrolyte type drinks that are sugar and aspartame free, please let me know that as well.

I have no doubt my health will improve off the truck. Now it’s time to improve my finances as well so that I don’t have to get back onto another one!

Until then….

All I can say at this point is….
