I didn’t know what affirmations even were when I started my first business… But I learned that they work… I’m just glad I started with the money ones! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a>When I started my first business, the people who introduced me to it immediately told me to start reading… Think and Grow Rich<\/em>, The Game of Life and How to Play It<\/em>, and more.<\/p>\n

And they taught me about affirmations.<\/p>\n

ALL that stuff was fufu to me. I couldn’t believe that they thought I would have time to do all that reading on top of writing down goals, posting flyers, making calls, and learning everything I had to know about being a business owner!<\/p>\n

After all, I had started a business to make money, not to learn a new way to talk to myself!<\/p>\n

But I did it anyway. I did it because people earning what I wanted to earn said to.<\/p>\n

And since money was the primary purpose of my starting the business, I started with a financial affirmation… “I’m earning $50,000 per month!”<\/p>\n

That’s right. My first affirmation was that I was earning more in a month than I’d earned in an entire year up to that point. And you know what happened?<\/p>\n

I heard a voice inside my head right after I said it that said, “Yeah right!! Like THAT’S even possible!”<\/p>\n

My thought was “What’s wrong with you?! If you’re MY subconscious then shouldn’t you be working WITH me on this plan?!”<\/span>Luckily for me, “they” (the top income earners and the books I’d been reading) had warning me that this would happen. Something about my subconscious mind getting in the way of my success and my goals.<\/p>\n

Well, because I’m stubborn, I kept repeating the affirmation all day long while I was posting flyers… about 12-14 hours a day.<\/p>\n

Initially, the voice was persistent… “No you’re not!”, “You can’t do that!”, “You know you’re lying!” sort of things.<\/p>\n

And then they gradually started quieting down.<\/p>\n

It took a few months, but I eventually stopped hearing any of those things at all. And then it happened… I GOT IT!<\/p>\n

I knew that the affirmations were working on changing my self-talk and beliefs the day someone out of the blue said, “Hey, how much money do you make?” And my knee-jerk response was, “$50,000…. er, about $15,000 a month right now.”<\/p>\n

THAT’S when I knew that affirmations worked. And the best month I ever had in that business was… wait for it… $50,000!<\/p>\n

Hmmmm…. shoulda made that affirmation a bit higher eh?<\/p>\n

The point is, if you’ve never done affirmations, you should really look into getting a few started. And if you do affirmations already, make sure you add those high income goal ones into the mix!<\/div>\n

I did learn a few things along the way though that might help.<\/p>\n
